A commission card for a friend...

Hi everyone just popping by with a card I've just made for a friend.  The commission was to make a card for a Police Passing Out Ceremony - OMG where do I start - I'm new to card making.  Anyway I was given a gift the other day and it was wrapped in black and white striped paper and an idea popped into my head!  So here is the finished card for you to see:-

 

After not knowing how I would do this card I'm quite pleased with how its come out!!  What do you think?
